PFZW and PME suffer data breaches

Dutch healthcare scheme PFZW has suffered a data leak affecting the personal data of around 95,000 members. The leak is believed to have occurred at the same software supplier used by a market research firm that was responsible for a data breach at pension scheme PME reported last week.  

 

Dutch healthcare scheme PFZW has suffered a data leak affecting the personal data of around 95,000 members. The leak is believed to have occurred at the same software supplier used by a market research firm that was responsible for a data breach at pension scheme PME reported last week.  

The data in question had been provided to the market research firm to conduct two surveys on the satisfaction of members with PFZW’s in-house magazines. While PFZW has not been able to confirm whether the data was actually leaked, affected members were notified by email on 4 April and warned against phishing messages and suspicious phone calls.
