A new study by London-based hedge fund, Nickel Digital Asset Management, has found that institutional investors are increasingly confident in short-term and long-term investment opportunities in the crypto and digital asset sector, despite recent market volatility.
The survey, which included 200 investors and wealth managers managing a collective $2.85tn in assets, found that 66% of respondents planned to increase or start investing in the sector over the next six months. 12% said their organizations will dramatically increase investment and 3% said they would invest for the first time.
When looking at a five-year view, 38% of respondents found the sector to be very attractive and 46% found it quite attractive, with only 17% finding it unattractive. The key drivers for investment were expectations of improved regulation in the sector and a recovery in valuations, with 64% expecting dramatic improvements in the regulatory environment and 63% predicting a bounce in pricing.
