Amundi, a €1.9 trillion asset manager, has appointed Philippe Brassac as its new chairperson, succeeding former CEO Yves Perrier. Brassac, who has been CEO of Credit Agricole since 2015 and joined the bank in 1982, became a board member at Amundi in October 2022.

He will officially take over at the AGM on May 12, while Perrier will assume the role of honorary chairman. During his tenure as CEO, Perrier facilitated the creation of Amundi through the merger of Societe Generale’s and Credit Agricole’s asset management businesses in 2010. He also oversaw Amundi’s Paris listing in 2015 and several key acquisitions, including Pioneer Investments and Banco de Sabadell.

In his new role, Perrier will focus on promoting finance that supports the country’s transition and development challenges.

Perrier: “Amundi has a robust business model and strong growth drivers for the future. I am certain that, under the leadership of Valérie Baudson [current CEO] and with the support of Philippe Brassac and Crédit Agricole Group, Amundi will continue its growth journey.”
